On a very hot afternoon we were warmly welcomed by Purley – it was a very sensible idea to reduce the number of ends to be played to 18.
BBA had a bowler making his debut for us, Peter Humphrey, who played against us at Bromley IBC – welcome Peter.
The match was closely contested from the start with the lead fluctuating several times. Very pleasingly it ended going the way of BBA by a margin of 69-64.
Our captain of the day, Keith Atkins thanked Purley for being excellent hosts and thanked the club for providing an excellent meal. He gave Top Rink prizes to Mike Saunders, Peter Humphrey, Anne Bailey and Bob Daintree who won by 19 -13 – congratulations to them.
