The inaugural fixture against West Hoathly was cancelled last year because of Covid, so it was a pleasure to be at the Club today and be warmly greeted by the members.
The weather was glorious, the green excellent and it was good to have four rinks and two triples on each side competing – we even had six supporters looking for a BBA win.
The game was evenly matched over the early ends, but at the halfway mark we were 20 shots adrift, although a rally of winning three consecutive ends in Ian Frisby’s President’s rink late on in the game, whilst not doing much for the overall score, meant that he finished as the Top Rink, with Judith Morris, Annette Hughes and Keith Atkins.
The game was played in a very friendly spirit and it is hoped that we can return next year and reverse the result.
