Our annual visit to the splendid surroundings of ‘’The Warren’’.
On a somewhat hot and humid day, we were very surprised to be greeted by a lush green that did however bowl very well and a match of great contrast ensued.
BBA won on two rinks, drew on one rink, and lost on the other three.
However, we proceeded to win by 20 shots, helped in abundance by our Top Rink of, Val Baker, Dave Wiltshire and Garry Stevens, winning by what is surely an unprecedented 45 shots to 2, against the home captain.
The ‘’Met’’ is now an ‘’open’’ club and they are a very friendly and hospitable crowd – good to see so many familiar faces with whom we proceeded to enjoy a fine buffet and cold beers out on the terrace for some time afterwards.
